This Guy Changed His Name To Bacon Double Cheeseburger And His Fiancé Is Not Having It

Would a burger by any other name would smell as sweet?

A record 85,000 Britons changed their names last year, and according to the British Deed Poll Service, people are coming up with extremely creative new titles for themselves. One guy, 33-year-old Simon Smith, unsatisfied with his identity, now goes by Bacon Double Cheeseburger.

"A name is the least important part of your personality – it's given to you by someone else," Mr. Double Cheeseburger told The Mirror. "Bacon Double Cheeseburger was the first name I came up with."

But while this burger-lover may be happy with his new identity, his fiancé Isabella, refuses to partake in this meaty tomfoolery and will not be taking his last name when they get married.

Louise Bowers, of the UK Deed Poll Service, said that people's choice of names can range from typical to totally bizarre, including one man who wanted to be known as Happy Birthday.

"It gave us a chuckle but if that is what they want to do, it's their choice," she told British magazine The Sunday People.
