Forget The Bar: This New Carnival Cruise Has An Entire Brewery On Board

Attention, craft beer fans: now might be the perfect time to book a cruise. With a flying bikes contraption that allows you to peddle high above the cruise ship deck, an onboard IMAX screen, and a waterpark, the Carnival Vista— the newest 4,000-passenger cruise to be added to Carnival's fleet— sounds pretty awesome. But the feature we're most excited about is RedFrog Pub, which will house the first brewery onboard an American cruise ship, according to Carnival.

The RedFrog Pub will offer three house-made North American-style beers which passengers can watch being made in tanks behind a wall of transparent glass, according to USA Today

Carnival has made everything happen in-house, or on-ship. The holding tanks will be located near the pub's entrance, so that passengers walking by can witness the beer fermentation process firsthand. There will even be taps inside the tables, so that you can pour your own pint. "Below your feet, a lower deck will also hold a grist mill that will be grinding the grains needed to brew the beer.We also heard that brewery tours and tastings could be in the works for interested guests. Fingers crossed for an entirely craft-beer themed cruise in Carnival's future.

"Our guests love beer, and they love trying new things," Carnival's vice president of beverage operations, Eddie Allen told USA Today. "We want to be sure we're putting our heart into this beer and making the best product we can."

Carnival Vista will be setting sail for the first time in May 2016.
