Drink Duff Beer And Eat Doughnuts At The New Simpsons Park In Universal Studios Hollywood

Homer goes to Hollywood! The Simpsons Springfield Village, dedicated to America's favorite wacky yellow family, has just opened up in Universal Studios Hollywood in California. As an atmospheric expansion of the pre-existing Simpsons ride, this "immersive themed environment" will feature the familiar landmarks (and good eats!) of Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie's hometown.

Channel your inner Homer as you chow down on iconic Springfield nosh like Lard Lad Doughnuts (yes, you can get a pink doughnut topped with rainbow sprinkles), Krusty Burger's Sideshow Bob foot-long (a foot-long chili cheese dog), the Krusty Burger, Luigi's pizza, and ice cream sundaes from Phineas Q. Butterfat's Ice Cream Parlor. Of course, you'll want to wash all of that food down with a Duff Beer at Moe's Tavern, or grab an energy drink and a Squishee from the Kwik-E-Mart.

On Tuesday, when the park opened, iconic voice actors Yeardley Smith (Lisa Simpson), Nancy Cartwright (Bart Simpson) and Joe Mantegna (Fat Tony) walked the "yellow carpet" — and were pretty impressed with this three-dimensional rendering of their familiar two-dimensional world.

"It's very strange... I feel very much a part of Lisa Simpson, and she feels like she is in me, but the world feels very two-dimensional to me, so this is actually all very new," Smith told Philly.com.
