Friends Brighten Up Their Morning Commute With A Christmas Party

Commutes, especially long ones, can be a drag. Six Wales commuters decided to brighten up their commute on the 8:08 a.m. train from Abergavenny to Cardiff with a Christmas banquet complete with bubbles, according to ITV.

Chris Lines, one of the commuters who participated in the party, says, "As we often spend 40 minutes a day travelling to work together, we thought 'why don't we have a Christmas party?'" He continues, "Because there were only two carriages we were a bit cramped, so we had to sit at a table that had someone already sitting there. We asked him if he minded lifting up his laptop so we could put our Christmas tablecloth on. He looked at us as if we were crazy, but he soon got into the swing of things."

The impromptu banquet featured prosecco, smoked salmon, and sausages. The group hung paper chains on the windows and pulled Christmas crackers to add to the festive mood. By the time the train reached its final destination, the rest of the train car "had embraced the festive spirit," according to ITV. Another member of the group, Jon Gruffydd, says, "We also shared some of our goodies with the neighbouring seats. It was generally appreciated and brightened up a dull early morning."
