We’ve all seen these alarming headlines and infographics: “This Is What Happens to Your Body One Hour After Drinking a Coke” (its “facts” were later dismissed as fabricated and alarmist), and “What Happens to Your Body One Hour After Eating a Big Mac.”These posts go viral for a reason: They’re terrifying. But a reporter from news blog, the Independent Journal, decided to take advantage of our clickbait gullibility with an investigative piece that shows exactly what happens to your body one hour after consuming a Chick-fil-A sandwich, fries, and a Coke.
Through a series of comedic vines, he showed “the horrific truth” of what happens when we dare to eat fast food.
After 20 minutes, the subject appears to crave more Chick-fil-A.
30 minutes in:
“I feel like an American Eagle soaring through the Appalachian Mountains.”
After one hour, he “stared off into the distance as a random stranger strolled by, American flag in hand.”
The reporter has concluded that his body was not, in fact, destroyed upon eating a Chick-fil-A sandwich.
