WATCH: Comedian Amy Schumer Talks About The Time She Stole Jake Gyllenhaal's Birthday Cake

Many years ago, before she wrote and starred in a movie for Judd Apatow, comedian Amy Schumer had a smaller budget for renting an apartment, and she ended up snagging a two-bedroom from Jake Gyllenhaal, a fellow actor whose place made the cut because "it wasn't that expensive."

Schumer, who tells the tale of her Gyllenhaal apartment adventure on the debut of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, readily admits that she did indeed look through all of Jake's leftover belongings. More importantly, she also ate a cake that Gyllenhaal left in the freezer, despite the fact that it was "very old" and "not edible."

"It was an old, frozen cake," Schumer tells Colbert. "And I would get drunk and I would eat it, and I would talk as if he were there, and I was at the party that the cake was served at. A lot"

In fact, Amy was even good enough to provide Colbert with a clip from her cake escapades. "You're a supermodel, and you're dating Jake Gyllenhaal," a confident Amy says directly to the camera, speaking to an imaginary adversary. "But I am living here, and I am eating this."
