TLC's Chilli Wants More Vegan Options At Chili's Grill & Bar

It's been over 20 years since '90s girl group TLC started chasing waterfalls, but now one of its members has set her sights on something else. Today, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas teamed up with PETA to send a letter a letter to Brinker International (the parent company of Chili's Grill & Bar) calling for Chili's to expand its menu to include more vegan-friendly options.

In the letter to Wyman Roberts, CEO and president of Brinker International, Chilli writes that the addition of vegan chicken could help the restaurant cater to people with plant-based diets and provide an alternative to a "meal made up of side dishes." Not only could vegan chicken "give a little extra spice to various sections of Chili's menu," it could also allow the chain to better compete with other restaurants, such as Yard House.

Like many stars joining PETA's initiative to speak out against animal cruelty, Chilli says she wants to use her celebrity to encourage choices that lead to healthier lifestyles.

"I am a fan of Chili's restaurants and am so committed to this initiative on a personal level that I'd love to work with you to help introduce and promote this new menu option to the public," Chilli writes.

In addition to Chilli's letter to Chili's, this week TLC announced that the group will play their first-ever show in the UK this May, according to The FADER.
