Sandra Lee Released From Hospital After Successful Double Mastectomy

Just weeks after the initial announcement of her breast cancer diagnosis, Sandra Lee has undergone a successful double mastectomy. Lee, 48, announced that she has returned home after the successful surgery in a Facebook post to her fans and followers: "Today is an exciting day! Sandra is going home to [Lily] Pond with her sister Kimber and Governor Cuomo. She is most excited to sleep in her own bed — and see Phoenix and Halo when she wakes up!"

Lee also posted a video from inside her hospital room in which she detailed her recovery plan. The surgery took place on Tuesday afternoon, and as she said in the video, "Both Rita [Wilson] and Christina Applegate told me I was not gonna be as strong as I thought I was gonna be, and they're right." Lee was referring her fellow celebrity friends who have undergone mastectomies as well.

Lee seems to be in good spirits, as she tweeted out a photo of herself, longtime partner New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and their pet parrot:

Earlier this month, ABC announced that the blonde TV personality had landed a lifestyle TV show with the network. There's no word as to whether the new show will be delayed due to Lee's current health prognosis.
