On Sunday, July 19, otherwise known as National Ice Cream Day, PetSmart will celebrate by offering free servings of dog-safe ice cream at any PetsHotel location, which provides overnight accommodations for your pets.

From noon until 4 p.m., PetHotels will serve complimentary cups of Treat Time, PetSmart’s dog-safe soft serve ice cream, plus a side of crunchy dog biscuits. We imagine your dog will enjoy this special treat more than Slobbersaus, the kibble condiment we recently discovered. And just in case you didn’t know, regular ice cream is definitely not something you should feed your pets.

It’s also worth noting that plenty of fast food places also offer special treats for your dog — you just have to know where to look. Sprinkles, Starbucks, and Shake Shack are among the many restaurants where you can pick something up for your puppy. If all these snacks suddenly inspire you to throw the perfect puppy party, we’ve got a guide on that, too.
