Adam Richman Dishes On How To Make The Perfect Peanut Butter And Jelly Sandwich

Adam "Man v. Food" Richman is known for his high-profile love affair with extreme comfort foods, but what about his all-time favorite? The Daily Meal caught up with Richman at the Comfort Classics event during New Taste of the Upper West Side this past weekend, the feast celebrating the best restaurants on the Upper West Side in New York.Although Richman said that after a brief stint with a mostly vegetarian diet (though not vegan, as initially suspected) he has "rekindled his love affair with the burger," his ideal comfort food is the humble peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Richman explained to us that the perfect peanut butter and jelly sandwich is an art form.

"You have to get the ratio correct, because it's more than half and half in favor of peanut butter," he said. "I like softer bread that you can make fingerprints in, raspberry jam, and creamy peanut butter, not crunchy."

But he's no stranger to the simple pleasures of a jar and spoon: "If I have a jar of peanut butter, it won't last, honestly."
