Wearable smartphone tech is migrating to the food world. You will now be able to order pizza with a touch of your wrist with Domino’s new smartwatch pizza delivery app, available for both Pebble and Android Wear devices.
“Pairing Domino’s with smartwatch technology couldn’t be more of a natural fit,” Kevin Vasconi, Domino’s Pizza’s chief information officer, said in a statement. “We are constantly looking for ways to use technology to enhance our customers’ experience and provide them with more convenience. We pride ourselves on having a variety of online ordering options for customers to choose from.”
Domino’s fans will be able to fill out their “pizza profiles” and save favorite orders for an easy ordering experience. They will then be able to check on their pizza’s progress from oven to front door.
According to Nation’s Restaurant News, more than half of orders from national pizza chains come through mobile or digital channels. What’s next for hungry smartwatch owners? Panera is supposedly developing a smartwatch app, according to NRN.
