This Tattoo Can Get You Free Pizza For A Year

There's no doubt that restaurants develop cult followings so committed that adherents are willing to get tattoos in honor of them and Washington, D.C.-based &pizza is encouraging the hype. To celebrate the opening of the pizzeria's first location in New York City, &pizza is offering free ampersand logo tattoos to the first 22 customers in line who request them, but that's not all — loyal fans who get inked will also receive free pizza for one year.

On opening day (June 20), a car will transport customers to First Class Tattoo on Canal Street to get the logo tattoo.

"We're not doing this because we want [employees] to swear their allegiance to us like we're some insane dictator," Michael Lastoria, chief executive officer and co-founder of &pizza, said in a statement. "We're doing it because we listen to our people. They love the symbol, they love the look of it and they love what it stands for."

If you're not ready to commit to a tattoo, the restaurant will also offer free pizzas to the first 212 customers in line on opening day.

The ampersand is an inconspicuous nod to your love for pizza, but food-related tattoos aren't always as tasteful. To read about the 13 worst food tattoos, click here.
