Though they might not seem natural, pineberries and bubbleberries are food hybrids you can actually find in nature. The product of selective breeding, pineberries are white strawberries with a citrus taste, and bubbleberries taste like Hubba Bubba bubblegum, importer Phillip Neilsen told Mashable Australia.

Nielsen is responsible for bringing the unique berries to Australia, which are slowly making their way to the United States. He tells Mashable that he decided to import the 'fabulous' berries after a trip he took to Europe five years ago. "We went to a nursery that had these strawberries, and we thought they looked fantastic so we asked if we could bring them to Australia," he said.

Nielsen notes that the strawberries still maintain their original taste. He says, "They all taste like strawberries but when you bite into the pineberry it has a citrus taste. It is not like biting into a pineapple, it just has a hint of that taste."

For those of us in the United States, pineberries and bubbleberries are not be so easy to come by, but are available if you look hard enough. Delish notes that Pineberry plants can be purchased online on sites like Amazon, and bubbleberries can be ordered online from Raintree Nursery.
