New York Bodega Worker Gets Jaw Broken In Avocado Attack

The New York Police Department has released shocking footage showing two men attacking a bodega employee in the Bronx with avocados and bananas. One of the fruits struck the employee so hard that it broke his jaw.

Although the video was recently released, the incident occurred on May 29 around 5 a.m. at the Stadium Gourmet Deli on East 161st Street and Walton Avenue.

According to New York Daily News, the two men caught on camera became agitated when they received the wrong food orders. Police sources say it might have been due to language barriers.

One of the deli supervisors, Samouel Saleh, 29, said one of the men ordered a sandwich and began yelling at Amir Alzabibi, the bodega worker who was attacked by the men.

"Then he started to throw the avocado in his face," Saleh said.

Police say that Alzabibi suffered fractures to his face and a broken jaw. He was sent to London Hospital for treatment.

The police department is still collecting information on the incident and can be reached at 800-577-TIPS.
