With the launch of Maple this spring, Momofuku head honcho David Chang officially entered the food delivery business. But Maple just got a whole lot sweeter with the introduction of its new signature cookie crafted by James Beard award-winning pastry chef Christina Tosi.
You might know Tosi as the sugar-wielding chef behind Milk Bar’s now-legendary crack pie and cereal milk ice cream. Milk Bar used to be a subsidiary of David Chang’s Momofuku, but it has since dropped the Momofuku name to give Tosi top billing.
Now she’s partnering with her former boss for the Sugar Shack cookie which debuts as a complimentary item with all Maple delivery orders this week. The Sugar Shack is made with maple syrup, Tahitian vanilla, and maple sugar.
Maple launched in April as an alternative to the delivery service Seamless (available in New York, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and London): meals are crafted and curated by a team of chefs in-house, as opposed to coming from local restaurants, and most meals come with a vegan and vegetarian option.
