A Hello Kitty Mini Cafe Is Permanently Taking Up Shop In Southern California

You don't have to travel across the world for to visit a Hello Kitty cafe anymore — last week, a permanent mini cafe dedicated to the Sanrio character opened in the Westfield Santa Anita in California.

At the cafe, you can get sweet treats from birthday cakes to doughnut macarons. For drinks, you can get iced tea including rose water and passionfruit flavors or standard coffee drinks with Hello Kitty latte art. According to Eater, the pastries and food are made fresh every day in the cafe's commercial kitchen. In the future, the cafe plans to have rotating seasonal items.

The mini cafe is co-owned by Allen Tea, who says that two Hello Kitty food trucks will also make rounds along the coasts. According to Tea, Hello Kitty fans are in for a real treat this year with a surprise "that will throw a lot of people off... in a good way."

The mini cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
