Comedian Jim Gaffigan Donates $70,000 To Milwaukee Food Pantry

Earlier this week, Jim Gaffigan stepped out of the comedic spotlight to give back to The Riverwest Food Pantry in Milwaukee this holiday season.

Gaffigan and his wife, Jeannie, donated $70,000 to the food pantry and sorted food donations.

"It's not just about giving away food, but there's a sustainable quality to helping people out," Gaffigan told the Journal Sentinel.

To give back even more to his wife's hometown, the comedian added an extra show on Dec. 30 (which is now sold out) at the Pabst Theater and will donate 100 percent of ticket sales to the food pantry.

Jeannie's brother, Vincent Noth, is the executive director of The Riverwest Food Pantry.

"What we're trying to do is draw people together through food," Noth said. "Then to bring greater stability to people's lives, and to the overall community."

The food pantry is part of the Hunger Force Task Network, which distributes healthy food to more than 160 locations, according to the organization's website
