Beyoncé's Big Announcement On National Television Is That She's A Vegan Now

This weekend, Good Morning America teased audiences with the promise of an exclusive announcement.

In the words of the flashy trailer, "Beyoncé has something amazing she wants you to know." Mrs. Knowles-Carter herself then confirms that "this is something I have to share with everyone."

Fans dutifully set their alarm clocks for the 7 a.m. announcement, anticipating that Beyoncé might be announcing a new album, tour, or even a new pregnancy.

But alas, even the artist's most devoted fans were considerably less than thrilled to learn that the carefully hyped announcement was about her eating habits. More specifically, Beyoncé is a vegan now, and she has a special diet.

If this sounds familiar to you, it's because Beyoncé has been the face of celebrity trainer and exercise psychologist Marco Borges' 22 Days Nutrition program, the meal delivery service and diet regimen that aims to convert participants to a fully vegan diet in three weeks.

Borges, who was certainly smart to seek some publicity from Beyoncé and Jay-Z, also asked his most famous clients to help him select the proper packaging for the delivery meals, and took their suggestion to feature the word "delicious" on the label.

So it doesn't really come as a surprise that Beyoncé has turned to veganism, and it definitely doesn't constitute an "amazing" announcement. We just hope the next time Beyoncé wakes us up to hear big news it's about a music video, not her favorite vegetables.
