Cold brew coffee is typically less acidic than conventionally-brewed hot coffee.

Weed-infused coffee pods hit the market early this year, but for coffee drinkers looking for a stronger batch, new cannabis beverage company Somatik recently partnered with Ritual Coffee to launch its first product, marijuana cold brew.

Somatik, which markets itself as a medical cannabis coffee containing 15 milligrams of THC, provides a taste that is “light-bodied and smooth with subtle notes of cherry, a hint of herbaceous flavor, and undertones of bright lemon,” while also providing a “mild euphoric effect,” according to the company website.

“Somatik has a lower dose of cannabis than you might find in other drinks, and that’s intentional,” Christopher Schroeder, founder of Somatik, told SF Weekly. “We wanted people to experience a balanced mind-body effect from the combination of caffeine and THC.”

The 8-ounce bottles of cannabis cold brew are currently available for $12 at both Harvest dispensary locations in San Francisco and the Oakland, California dispensary Magnolia Wellness.

The cold brew can also be delivered through CANNVIS, an artisanal cannabis delivery service for qualified patients in California.
