McDonald's Is Testing Monster Energy Drinks At Select Locations Around The Country

Need an energy boost to go with your Big Mac? McDonald's can help you get your caffeine fix at select locations.

The fast food chain is testing out Monster Energy Drinks at about 20 restaurants in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, and Ohio, according to CBS News. Though they already serve coffee and caffeinated Coca-Cola products, McDonald's noticed that more customers want to be able to purchase energy drinks, too.

"We're always gathering feedback from customers on the food and beverages they'd like to be served at McDonald's and this is another example," Lisa McComb, a McDonald's representative, told The Associated Press in an email.

This test is a response to declining sales across the country. McDonald's is also trying to improve the taste of their food by toasting the hamburger buns longer and searing the meat differently to make it more flavorful.

Earlier this month, a survey showed that McDonald's was having trouble keeping up with the demand to serve all-day breakfast and noticed a drop in sales and general traffic.
