Coke Zero Is Changing Its Name And Formula In The UK And People Are Freaking Out
Coca-Cola is testing out a new look and feel for its Coke products to make low-sugar brands like Diet Coke and Coke Zero look and taste more like regular soda.Coke Zero, in particular, is undergoing a makeover overseas and will henceforth be known as Coca-Cola Zero Sugar in British markets, which coincides with the new soft drink tax being implemented in the U.K. in 2018. As of right now, there are no plans to change Coke products in the U.S.
The rebranding campaign will launch in June and is being pegged as the "new and improved" version of Coke Zero. With the introduction of the new soft drink, Coca-Cola is hoping it can bump up sales of diet products to 50 percent of its total revenue, according to The Guardian.
Fans, however, are less than thrilled about the coming changes:
Coke Zero to be rebranded as "Coke Zero Sugar," because my goddamned life ISN'T COMPLICATED ENOUGH ALREADY.
