MoonPie Adds Flavored Coffee To Menu

MoonPie lovers, you'll never have to choose between coffee and dessert again.

The makers of MoonPies are teaming up with White Coffee Corporation to create a new line of flavored coffees, inspired by classic MoonPie flavors. Coffee flavors include Chocolate, Vanilla, Banana, and Mint, reminiscent of the favorite Southern snack. The coffee will be available in 10-ounce bags, or $5.99 to $6.99 per pound. The packaging is printed with the iconic, half-moon MoonPie logo and shows the original cookie inspiration on the label.

The pairing of these two companies bridges a regional gap that spans from the deep South to the Northeast. Chattanooga Bakery, Inc., the manufacturers of MoonPies, was one of the foremost snack companies in the Great Depression, and was a favorite with Southern coal miners and laborers. The company is continuing the tradition of MoonPies but is seeking wider audiences through this modern take on their classic snack. Their choice of White Coffee Corporation, a company based in Long Island City, N.Y., will bring northern exposure to this traditionally Southern favorite.

The line of MoonPie-flavored coffees is now available online or at retail outlets nationwide.
