Momofuku Announces New Cook Takeover Series
On March 10th, Momofuku Noodle Bar will begin its new Cook Takeover Series, an ongoing collaboration with Momofuku's own Noodle Bar staff. For a single night, a line cook from the restaurant will create supplemental dishes for the restaurant's dinner menu. The first chef to be featured in this series will by Casey Kusaka, a Hawaiian chef and a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America. Kusaka has also worked at Tropics Taphouse, Auntie Pasto's, and Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine.
Kusaka's supplemental treats will include a bun, noodle, and dessert dish inspired by his Hawaiian heritage.
"Think char siu pork bun and a mochi dessert," teases Momofuku's announcement on Tumblr. The first Cook Takeover will take place between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. and is offered alongside Noodle Bar's nightly menu of fried chicken, ramen, specialty buns, and Milk Bar desserts.
Expect to see more of Noodle Bar's own staff featured in more Cook Takeovers, which will offer Momofuku's chefs the chance to show off their culinary chops.
