McDonald's Testing Out Mighty Wings On A National Scale

It's been many years in the making, but McDonald's is finally rolling out their Mighty Wings on a national scale.

This giant leap forward for the world's largest fast food chain, first reported by Burger Business, will be launched Sept. 9, and will remain on menus through November. The "big, crispy, spicy, meaty, juicy, bone-in chicken" wings, which are breaded and fried, will be sold in sets of three, five, and 10 pieces starting at $2.99, and will come with your choice of Chipotle Barbecue Sauce, Creamy Ranch Sauce, Honey Mustard Sauce, Hot Mustard Sauce, Spicy Buffalo Sauce, Sweet Chili Sauce, Sweet 'N Sour Sauce, Honey, or Tangy Barbecue Sauce.

McDonald's has been trying for years to figure out a way to work wings into their menu, and they seem to finally be ready to test it out on a national scale. Burger Business points out that they first briefly hit menus in the 1990s, before being tested last year in Atlanta and earlier this year in Chicago, and the company confirmed that they were both very successful. And if this limited-time offer is also a hit, odds are that McDonald's will be getting into the fried chicken game full-time.
