Listen To 5 Cheddar Cheese Anthems

All right Cheddar cheese lovers. Pause your third listen of "Call Me Maybe" (Sesame Street version) and check out these five songs, all dedicated to Cheddar cheese.

Apparently, the British Cheese Board decided to hold a contest, seeing who could write the most lyrical ode to the cheese. There are plenty of rewrites of "Pomp and Circumstance," and lyrics like "Cheddar you are my Venus/ Cheddar you are the word/ None shall come between us/Incomparable curd."

Not to mention the folksy take from Paddy Wex, crooning, "Macaroni cheese — pasta sublime/ And then there's cauliflower, of course/ That always tastes at least twice as good/When steeped in thick, rich Cheddar sauce."

Our personal favorite?

Alwyn Thomas' upbeat take on "America," adding in whistles, a thumping beat, and Cheddar lyrics. Listen below, then head over to NPR to hear the rest of the finalists.
