How To Throw An Eagles Game Party
Philadelphia Eagles fans bleed green — anyone will tell you as much. So if you are planning a truly awesome Eagles party for game day, just putting out some chips isn't going to cut it. Here are some tips, ideas and places where you can find what you'll need to throw one of the best Eagles game day parties.
The Bottle Shop

No tailgating or football-fueled event is complete without your favorite beverages. Be sure to have a variety of non-alcoholic drinks as well as plenty of beer. A party is always a good excuse to get handcrafted beer made from many of the local breweries. The Bottle Shop on Passyunk Avenue has over 500 craft beer choices. You should also have iced tea, bottled water and maybe some stuff for mixing to appease all of your guests. One recipe to consider is the Philadelphia Eagle Recipe by Drinkmixer, which consists of mixing 1 oz of rum, 1 oz of white tequila and 1 oz of Green Apple Schnapps.
Chickie's & Pete's
1526 Packer Ave.
Philadelphia, PA 19145
(215) 218-0500

If you don't feel your home can contain the exuberance of your Eagles friends, then maybe you need to take the party elsewhere. You can consider going to a sports bar, call ahead and tell them you have a certain amount of guests. Many places will give you discounted food with at least 10 guests. You can provide the food and your friends pay for their drinks. Chickie's & Pete's is a favorite amongst Philadelphians because you can enjoy your favorite sporting events on a 14-foot television and grab delicious crab fries. You won't have to worry about the size of your party because this location has three bars within its massive 24,000 square feet.

Cosmi's Deli

Philadelphia, PA 19147

Besides the guests, food usually makes the party. You should always take your guests' preferences into consideration when selecting a menu. Make sure to have plenty of finger-type foods that are easy to handle when jumping up and down and yelling at the TV. Everyone loves a good cheesesteak, so consider ordering some huge sammies and slicing them up for guests. Or, if you want to be literal and feed your guests 'what eagles eat,' put out various fish or chicken-based foods like cold shrimp cocktail, shrimp or chicken on skewers or pulled chicken in the crockpot. If you aren't much of a cook, or just don't have the time to make an elaborate meal, consider ordering from a place like Cosmi's Deli, which can provide plenty of dishes and party trays. And remember, Bald Eagles are opportunists that steal food from each other, so don't leave your plate unattended during the game!

Fan Treasures

It goes without saying that fans will wear their favorite gear including t-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys and hats, and those lucky socks can't be forgotten either. You can have an "Ultimate Fan" contest to encourage some lavish face painting and creativity (which will just make for a nice photo-book later). Fan Treasures is just across the Ben Franklin or Walt Whitman Bridges on Route 168 (The Black Horse Pike). It has a huge assortment of sports memorabilia and fan treasures. Here you can buy larger boxes of Eagles ornaments or Eagles office supplies and hand these out as party favors. Most of these can cost you between $1-$5 an item. Pick up one more special item if you are doing a contest, or put together a gift basket.
