Hot fudge is something people always resort to buying pre-made, but once you make it from scratch, you can't go back. This is my no-fail recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups water
  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 1 Cup cocoa powder
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 4 Cups light corn syrup
  • 4 Cups heavy cream
  • 16 Ounces dark chocolate
  • 8 Ounces butter
  • 2 Tablespoons vanilla extract

Directions

In a medium-sized saucepan, bring the water, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt to a boil. Add the corn syrup and heavy cream and simmer for 5 minutes. Next add the rest of the ingredients, mix well, and serve.

Fudge Shopping Tip

There are so many varieties of chocolate on the shelves today it can be overwhelming to pick one – as a general rule of thumb, the fewer the ingredients, the better the chocolate.

Fudge Cooking Tip

When melting chocolate, use a double boiler and stir occasionally to avoid scorching chocolate at the bottom of the bowl.
