Healthy Chocolate Shake
I don't know about y'all, but I LOVE chocolate shakes. Luckily, I also love working out. Even with an active lifestyle, you're not going to see the results you want unless you're eating right. Of course, treats are good every now and then, but if I let myself, I would eat ice cream every day. To solve this problem, I've got a easy and healthy chocolate protein shake coming at you! The best part? It actually tastes good!
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 0 minutes
Total time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1
Ingredients:
5-7 ice cubes
1 banana
1 scoop of chocolate protein powder of choice (I used TwinLab)
1 cup of almond milk (or any kind of milk you prefer)
Directions:
1. Add ice cubes to blender. I like to have these as the closest ingredient to the blade to ensure that they are crushed thoroughly.
2. Break banana into pieces and add to blender. This will make your shake naturally sweeter, but I sometimes also add a packet of stevia (natural sugar replacement) if I want to hit that sweet tooth extra hard.
Tip: Slice up a banana and freeze it for a few hours and you won't have to add ice! Just toss in the frozen banana pieces and you'll be good to go.
3. Add chocolate protein powder to blender.
4. Pour milk on top of all components. Saving this ingredient for last helps weigh everything down closer to the blade as well.
Yum... anyone want a taste?
5. Blend it up...
6. Enjoy!
Tip: Sprinkle ground flax seed (Like pictured above) on top & mix it in for an added boost of texture and omega-3 fatty acids.
