Whole Foods' Genji Mango Fresh Rolls Keep Mango Season Going
The height of mango season may be over for many of us but in the Carribean and other equatorial climates, fresh ripe mangoes are available year round, in many cases picked right from a backyard tree. Now you can savor this just-picked delight through Genji's Mango Fresh Rolls, available in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide.
Genji's Mango Fresh Rolls forego sushi rice in favor of a deliciously light rice-paper that enrobes a sweet and sour pickled mango purée and crystal noodles complemented by a South-East Asian Sweet Chili Peanut sauce with an earthy spice pairing perfectly with the mango's fresh sweetness.
According to Genji's Corporate Chef Takao Iinuma, protégé of Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto, "These rolls are a wonderful way to enjoy their bright, fresh flavor at the peak of the season, and I'm hoping our customers will love them as much as I do! Mangos are a seasonal delicacy across the globe and it's wonderful to incorporate their natural sweetness and tang into our offerings."
