Gabby Douglas Graces Corn Flakes Box

On Thursday, Gabby Douglas, 16, won Olympic gold for the second time this week – first as a member of the reigning U.S. women's gymnastics team and second as the first African-American to win the all-around competition. And in celebration of her outstanding achievements, Kellogg's already has the athlete's smiling face printed on boxes on Corn Flakes cereal.

Plastering the faces of Olympic athletes on cereal boxes is a long a storied tradition, especially on Wheaties. Other athletes to appear on cereal boxes include Mary Lou Retton (a fellow all-around gold medal champion), Bruce Jenner, and Michael Jordan.

Kellogg's announced this morning that the special-edition boxes featuring Douglas will hit grocery store shelves this fall. In a press statement this morning Douglas said, "I'm so proud to be part of this gold-medal winning team and I'm thrilled I was able to bring home the all-around gold for Team USA as well," remarking further, "The support from fans around the country has been amazing, and it's a huge honor to see ourselves on a cereal box that our fans can all own and enjoy!"
