This is a Northeastern pizza genre unto its own, and Pepe's is the best of them all — freshly-shucked, briny littleneck clams, an intense dose of garlic, olive oil, oregano, and grated cheese atop a charcoal-colored crust.   • FYI: Pepe's, where the pizza is as good as the best of New Haven, doesn't do slices. A medium clam pizza, slathered in garlic and oregano, feeds two and costs $19.50.
  • Don't expect a cracker-thin crust it's chewy. And the white clam pie is really all that. Dont miss it.
