Forget Kitchen Cabinets: Here's A Spiceologist Block

Hardly a day goes by when we don't see some new nifty gadget on Kickstarter to jazz up our already jazz-y kitchens (just kidding, our kitchens are tiny). Today: The Spiceologist Block, a partnership between blogger Heather Scholten of Farmgirl Gourmet and spice shop Savorx.

The concept? Take a block of European Beech, craft it into a block of sorts, and display your spices like your knives. A block can hold either 22 or 44 spices, sitting casually on your kitchen counter instead of in a mess in your cupboard. Your spices stay organized and presentable, and you get to slyly show off how excellent and diverse a cook you are to visitors.

So far, the project has $38,717 of the $50,000 goal on Kickstarter, with three days left of funding. Backers get an e-cookbook on the lowest level; other donors could get a variety of spices, a Spiceologist Block, or a full set of the block with spices.
