Take-Out Christmas Dinners In Washington, D.C.

If you want to avert any potential Christmastime kitchen nightmares, there are alternatives — you can actually phone it in.

That's right. Order all or part of your meal ahead, pick it up, and head home without ever having to change out of your sweats and slippers. To help you find a fantastic place for take away in Washington, D.C., we've compiled a short list for your review. Just be sure to place your order soon or you might be going through the drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant.

Acadiana
Acadiana is offering their annual holiday dinner for eight to-go. The dinner includes prime rib, leg of lamb, glazed ham, roasted turkey, or salmon fillet with choice of gravy; Acadiana's famous biscuits with pepper jelly; any six side items; and a choice of cranberry chiffon, sweet potato pie, or pecan pie. All items are served hot and ready to eat; and every side and main is available à la carte. See the full menu here. Orders must be received by 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Orders will be available for pick-up from 12 to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

Bayou Bakery, Coffee Bar & Eatery
David Guas, Bayou Bakery's chef and owner, is the real deal from New Orleans, and so is his skill in the kitchen. He has pulled out all the stops for his Christmas catering menu, which he calls, "Party Bites, Sides & Pies," and created a list of awesome goodies that includes creamy mac-n-cheese, collards, gumbo, and a whole lot more of Southern goodness. Don't forget to try his flaky biscuits, tempting desserts, and stocking stuffer sweeties. His Party Bites, Sides & Pies must be ordered by Monday, December 22 with final pickup Wednesday, December 24. Pick up times are between 7:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Blue Duck Tavern
If you would love to savor Blue Duck Tavern's exceptional cuisine at home this Christmas, all you have to do is call ahead and order their holiday feast to-go. The star of the dinner is a 10- to 12-pound free-range roasted turkey from Earth N Eats Farm in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, along with two freshly baked breads, four traditional sides, and two seasonal pies. This all-American feast is designed to feed six to eight and is priced at $350 (taxes not included). Orders must be placed by December 19 at 5:00 p.m. with the Christmas dinner available for pick-up from their Pastry Pantry on December 24 from 1 to 5 p.m. or on December 25 from 11 to 2 p.m.
