New York Hilton Midtown Offers Plush Options For Your Picnic Basket

Most New Yorkers like to pack their own picnics. We pick up sandwiches from wherever is closest, toss in a couple of drinks, and take our tote bag to the nearest patch of green we can find.

But, if you're looking to impress your picnic companion, you may want to swing by the Hilton in Midtown to pick up a customized basket. It's pretty impressive.

The hotel, which is located about seven minutes from Central Park's duck pond, recently introduced picnic baskets from their gourmet market, Herb N' Kitchen.

For $68, you'll get a Murray's Cheese plate; a choice of two sandwiches (vegetable, turkey, or roast beef); two signature salads; dessert; and a bottle of wine or sparkling water in flavors like apple cinnamon and cucumber mint.

"Nice setup!" commented a passerby, as we dined like kings.

You're right, random lady! It is a nice spread, especially since the cushiony picnic blanket they provided matched the plates.

Oh, and bonus: you get to keep the basket, wine glasses and all.

Most tourists don't want to haul it on the plane, but if you're a native, enjoy the souvenir.
