New Orleans' Paradigm Gardens To Host Outdoor Dinner Series
Spring is in the air, and Paradigm Gardens — Central City's urban farm and outdoor oasis — is providing ample reason to spend a little time outside. The event venue will host two separate series beginning in March: Paradigm Garden Concert Series and Pizza & Pies.
The gardens, which are run by founders Joel Tilton and Jimmy Seely, supply produce primarily to their three partner restaurants: Coquette, Patois, and Primitivo. In addition, Paradigm Gardens is home to three goats and features a quail coop, beehives, and a plethora of fruits and vegetables. In the center of the space is a wood-burning brick oven used to prepare food for events — including the two upcoming series. A stage off to the side makes Paradigm Gardens the perfect place for an alfresco evening.
Paradigm Gardens' 2017 Concert Series began on Tuesday, March 7, and will be held every other Tuesday through May 16. Each event will feature one of the venue's partner chefs along with two or three chefs from other prominent New Orleans restaurants. Also included in each gathering are oysters on the half shell from Two Girls One Shuck, libations from Cathead Vodka and Courtyard Brewery, and a rotating mix of performances by local artists. Though there will be some alcoholic beverages on hand, guests may BYOB. Tickets are $50 all-inclusive and can be purchased online.
Pizza & Pies is Paradigm Gardens' Wednesday night collaboration with Ancora Pizzeria. Every other Wednesday through May 24, chefs from the pizzeria will be joined by one or two chef guests to create delicious pizzas and bruschetta. In addition, The Pupusa Lady will be on hand at each affair serving up her signature Honduran dish, while the ladies of Windowsill Pies have dessert covered with their incredible homemade pies. New Orleans Rum and Nola Brewing will provide specialty cocktails and beer, but you may also bring your own beverages. To round out a fantastic evening, tunes will be played by some of New Orleans' top DJs at each event. To view the chef line-up or purchase tickets, visit the website.
