Hutchinson Cocktails & Grill Adds Indonesian Inspired Specialties To La Cienega Boulevard's Restaurant Row
Drawing on the more than 65 years of family culinary experience behind them, brothers Justin and Ian Hopper opened Hutchinson Cocktails & Grill in Los Angeles to honor their Indonesian heritage.
Located on La Cienega Boulevard's Restaurant Row where The Spanish Kitchen once stood, the Indonesian-focused steakhouse utilizes a wood-fired grill, spices, curries, and sriracha to create dishes such as green curry fried chicken, crispy Thai snapper, wagyu skirt steak, beef rendang sliders, lobster tom-kah, and nasi-goreng – a hearty rice bowl with pork, shrimp, and chicken topped with a fried egg.
The innovative cocktail menu, headed by mixologist Sergio Gonzalez, includes house-made bottled tonics and sodas and new Indonesian inspired flavors added to classics such as Old Fashions and White Russians.
Hutchinson also hosts a monthly rijsttafel. The traditional "rice table" feast is served banquet-style and includes coconut rice with peanut sauce; green papaya mango salad; pork, chili, and prawn satay; whole fried dorade; chicken rendang; braised lamb; and butterscotch tapioca pot de crème.
