David's Tea Launches Special-Edition Teas To Benefit Kenya

This month, David's Tea is celebrating spring a bit early by bringing you a host of new flavors—and the sweetest of them all is of the charitable variety.

Through its partnership with social enterprise ME to WE and Free The Children, the Canadian-founded tea purveyor has recently launched a new collection of both leaves and merchandise that will provide clean water to a developing community in Kenya.

Each purchase of the special edition fruity tea (made from pineapple, hibiscus, figs and cranberries), bracelet, and travel mug (which lets you brew raw leaves and buds on the go) ultimately leads to a reduction in illness for children in Kenya, allowing girls to go to school instead of spending hours collecting water and to gain better access to food. Kenya is, in fact, one of the largest tea producing countries in the world.

"Whether sharing kind words over a cup of tea, volunteering in your community, or buying products that makes a difference, we can empower each other to make a difference in our day-to-day choices," Roxanne Joyal, CEO of ME to WE, said in a release.

The ME to We tea joins other strains of a spring tea line-up inspired by another region of the world, Japan. Those flavors include raspberry cream pie (rooibos) fruits of paradise (green) white nectarine(white) pistachio ice cream (black) and Monk's blend (white).
