Relax, Coffee Won't Give You Heart Palpitations, New Research Says

Despite what you may have heard, drinking caffeinated beverages such as coffee, tea, or chocolate does not cause heart palpitations, at least that's what researchers at the University of San Francisco want you to believe. Now, during the study, researchers examined more than thirteen hundred subjects who were all participants in another study about heart health. Researchers measured subjects' instances of irregular heartbeats — premature ventricular contractions and premature atrial contractions. In the end, researchers did not identify any differences in instances of heart palpitations or abnormal rhythms, no matter how much coffee, tea, or chocolate subjects consumed.
