Contigo's Fancy New Water Bottles Look A Little 'S'well'

Contigo is expanding its portfolio with "fashion-forward" spill-proof water bottles as part of the company's newly released "Couture Collection." The patterned stainless-steel containers feature a double-walled vacuum insulation designed to keep beverages cold for up to 24 hours or hot up to 10. While the new product is pretty cute, we couldn't help but notice it looks strikingly similar to S'well bottles.

"The Couture Collection is a product line we have been looking forward to sharing with our consumers," Contigo director of brand marketing Julie Hibbard said in a release. "With the weather getting warmer, we are excited to introduce this beautiful new water bottle with THERMALOCK technology to Contigo's diverse and innovative beverageware portfolio."

The new look might seem diverse compared to the rest of Contigo's roster, but S'well also has a similarly shaped stainless steel bottle with multi-color swirls. The only real difference is that Contigo's cap is attached to the body with a rubber arm, which might actually make it the better pick for those who are prone to misplace things. Plus, Contigo's variety is about $15 cheaper.

The bottles are currently being sold at Target and other major retailers for a suggested retail price of $19.99. Contigo is owned by Newell Brands, which is also responsible for household names including Rubbermaid, Mr. Coffee, and Crock-Pot.

The Daily Meal has reached out to S'well and Contigo for comment. No matter which bottle you fancy, they should both do the trick for housing these 10 beverages that are more hydrating than water.
