D.C. “PhilanthroPub” in Need of New Air Conditioning Unit

A bar and restaurant that donates profits to charity is turning to the community for help

The restaurant is attempting to raise $11,000 for the new unit.

Cause’s, a bar and restaurant in D.C. that gives away all of its profits to charity, is in need of a new air conditioning unit, the Dcist reports. The restaurant opened last October and calls itself a “PhilanthroPub.” The charities the profits are donated to rotate on a quarterly basis.

The restaurant is in need of a new air conditioning unit, but doesn’t want to dip into their funds to pay for it, since this would cut into the amount they can donate. Instead, the owners are asking for a public handout. The restaurant started an Indiegogo campaign looking for $11,000.

The drinks at the bar cost between $3.50 for a beer and $10 for a fancy cocktail. On their Indiegogo page, the bar claims if you give them money now, they will have a drink waiting for you the next time you come in.
