Prime Day — the mid-summer shopping extravaganza that is the single largest shopping day for Amazon other than Black Friday — is almost here. You've probably heard the rumors swirling around about when it will occur – and now the dates are official. From 3 p.m. EDT on Monday, July 16, through all of Tuesday, July 17 (ending at midnight PDT), you can take advantage of some of the best deals of the year on products coveted by every home cook and backyard griller.

At 36 hours, this will be the longest Prime Day ever, up from 30 hours last year. What does that mean for you? Popular products are likely to go out of stock. For example, last year the top-selling product was the Instant Pot, and some models ran out before the sale was over. What's on your list for this year? We're waiting to see if they will be offering deals on 2018's hottest kitchen gadget or a new affordable grill.

You can also plan on there being more "Lightning Deals" during the duration of the 36 hours. Lightning Deals are super low prices that are only available for a certain amount of time or until a certain number of products are sold. Some last only 30 minutes, while others are more than a few hours. These deals frequently include some of the best prices on products we've seen.

We've partnered with our sister site, BestReviews, to bring you all the info you'll need to know about Prime Day 2018. BestReviews is a product reviews website that brings you zero-bias information on thousands of products. They never accept free or discounted products in exchange for positive reviews — they buy and test them just as you would — so you can trust their recommendations.

And if the number of products on sale begins to overwhelm you, don't hesitate to email BestReviews' experts to find out if the products in your cart are worth the money. While making your list, don't forget to snag these 25 essential kitchen tools.

Our editors are recommending these products because we love them, but just so you know, The Daily Meal may get a small portion of the sales from the links on this page.
