This Stylish $90 Apron Is Almost Too Pretty To Cook In

A chef who was frustrated by the lack of self-expression her kitchen whites provided her is now selling her own line of aprons that she says allow her to dress "with passion."

Mariana Velasquez, a chef-turned-food stylist, told The New York Post that, "You sort of lose part of your identity by having a uniform." However, she still needed to protect her clothing when she worked with food.

This inspired her to design her line of aprons, named Buenlimón, based on a Spanish phrase that means "a good squeeze of lemon," which happens to be one of her cooking catchphrases.

Velasquez's website describes the line as, "a layer that flows like a gown" and describes the materials used to make the one-pocketed apron, as being from vintage fabrics and solid linens. The range of patterned and solid color creations sell from $80 to $98 dollars and are sold on her website.
