20 Foods You Wouldn’t Think to Grill
The Daily Meal reached out to own Culinary Content Network of bloggers in search of exciting recipes to share with our readers. It’s summer time, which of course in eating terms means it’s grilling time! Who doesn’t love a good piece of grilled salmon, or grilled chicken, or of course, grilled ribs!
But this week we are digging deeper into our grilling repertoires because there are so many ingredients that can benefit from a good dose of direct heat and fire. This week’s SWAT (Sharing With A Theme) invited our bloggers to show us their skills and present us with their best recipes featuring foods that you wouldn’t think to grill.
Here were this week’s SWAT finalists:
This recipe (and photography) is just gorgeous! From A Calculated Whisk (points for the punny name), blogger Becky says “Grilled pound cake with lemon curd and berries is the perfect way to finish off any summer BBQ, and since it’s gluten free and grain free, more people can enjoy!”
Coming from the kitchen of Dan Zehr and the Platter Talk food blog, this salad uses grilled peaches to elevate this drool-worthy salad with fresh mozzarella, pesto dressing, and bright summer greens.
I agree with Sue of The View From Great Island food blog in that cherry tomatoes are just awesome; and grilled cherry tomatoes with goat cheese and good bread, divine.
Who would have thought that pizza could get better? Coley Cooks makes hers exceptional with the fantastic flavor combination of corn, prosciutto and tarragon- plus the whole pizza is cooked on the grill! Not only amazing, but ridiculously good.
It was incredibly hard to choose a winner this week. Maybe I just have grilling fever because I would like to eat all of these at the same time! Nevertheless, congrats to Dan Zehr and his Grilled Peach Salad, can I come for dinner?
