Wood & Vine Debuts New Summer Cocktail Menu In Hollywood
There's nothing quite like kicking back and indulging in a sweet summer cocktail on a patio in the sunshine. Luckily, you can do all of that at Wood & Vine in Hollywood (www.woodandvine.com) with their brand new summer drink menu. The new cocktail menu by Mixologist Katy Nichols was previewed for a group of influencers at a dinner hosted by Julianne Gabert of Girls On Food Blog (http://www.girlsonfood.net/). The theme of the event was vintage Old Hollywood, which perfectly matched the movie playing above us on the side of the W Hotel: L.A. Confidential.
The new drink menu boasts a great variety of tastes and flavors balanced with quality liquors.
The Beekeeper is perfectly pink and is a great fit for those who love their drinks on the sweet side. If you love hard iced teas, The Creekwater is a nice strong cocktail made with Rowan's Whiskey and freshly brewed iced tea. With one of the best names of the night, My Other Lover was a pretty Mezcal cocktail which packed a punch. The Cracken is a drink that is literally pitch black, but its Sweet Vermouth will brighten your night. A personal favorite of the night was the Chocolate for Breakfast, which is made with Belvedere Vodka, Coffee, and Creme de Cocoa — a sweet and lovely dessert drink to cap off the night.
In addition to the new summer drink menu, the event also featured a taste of Wood & Vine's comprehensive and diverse menu. The group started off with Salt and Vinegar Chips, a Charcuterie /Cheese Board, and Marinated Olives as we gathered in the lounge area. Once everyone arrived, we moved over to our table by a firepit, which was lovely even if it was too warm in Los Angeles to light the flame.

The Duck Egg with herb salad, shallots, and capers is a gorgeous dish that is as tasty as it looks — the shallot gives it an amazing savoriness to the sunny-side up egg. The Grilled Cheese sandwich is wonderfully cheesy and comes with a tomato bisque is the right amount of creamy.

The Chicken and Waffle delivers a nice balance between sweet (the maple syrup, that waffle) and the savory (the juicy chicken).

Usually, the bone marrow dishes I've had have looked, well, very masculine; they look like you need to devour it with a couple of beers. But Wood & Vine's Bone Marrow dish is a floral dream, served with parsley gremolata, chrysanthemum, and baguette.

For dessert, we sampled the delicious Chocolate Pot de Creme, Apple Fry-Pie, and the Butterscotch with bourbon ice cream, and sweet thyme crumble, a personal favorite.
Overall, the new summer drinks menu goes amazingly well with Wood & Vine's delicious menu of Hollywood comfort food.
