Seafood Festival Enables Visitors To Dine With Dolphins At SeaWorld San Antonio

From now through the end of May, visitors to San Antonio's SeaWorld/Aquatica can do more than enjoy the theme park's fascinating marine life and massive water park. They can travel vicariously to the Mediterranean, North Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, North Pacific, Pacific Ocean and South Atlantic to savor exotic cuisine. The Seven Seas Food Festival, a new culinary adventure, offers guests a chance to taste cuisine from seven global regions. Each Friday, Saturday and Sunday through May 31 and including Memorial Day, visitors can feast on fine foods. Who doesn't love Greek-yogurt drenched Gyros? How about delicious, saucy Italian Lasagna? Those are just two offerings in the Mediterranean region. For those familiar with Mexican and Cuban food, the Gulf of Mexico region holds the promise of tacos al carbon, enchiladas and guacamole. Cuban offerings may include black beans, yellow rice and slow-cooked pulled pork, called "ropa vieja" or old clothes in Spanish. The Seven Seas Food Festival knows visitors come from the four corners of the earth to visit SeaWorld San Antonio, so they included the best steaks and beef cuts from Argentina and Brazil on the menu. Japan and Korea are also represented as is Caribbean fare from Jamaica. In addition to the fabulous food lines, guests can upgrade their Seven Seas Food Festival experience with fine specialty wines or craft beer to pair with any dish. Anyone in the mood for cheese pairings can get that as well. Sampling packages are also available upon request during the weekend food festival. Celebrity chefs and local chefs will offer food demonstrations in an effort to teach how to create tasty dishes at home. Omni Hotels chef Samuel Boisjoly is the featured chef May 16-17 and May 30-31. Chef Virginia Willis is the featured chef May 23-24. Some demos will highlight the uses of the soft drink Coca-Cola in the recipe. Another surprise is that foods can be transformed into art. So visitors will see firsthand how some fruits and vegetables can be sculpted into food art. For more than 50 years, SeaWorld has been a leading theme park and entertainment venue offering personal, interactive and educational experiences to families. These experiences blend imagination with nature and enable guests to celebrate and connect with the world of nature shared by all. The Seven Seas Food Festival experience offers a multi-gastronomical experience for every palate, from spicy to sweet and everything in between. Foods representing seven unique geographical areas are available weekends from 11 am until closing. The fun food experience is included with any pass, fun card or daily admission. There are different options such as a one- day pass, two-day pass, annual membership and unlimited pass to SeaWorld and Aquatica water park within the same San Antonio complex. Visit the Welcome Center inside Sea World to check on availability. Reservations are taken at Sea World on a first-come, first-served basis.
