Here Is An Impressive Cocktail-Shaking Machine

Adding this onto our list of outrageously elaborate drink gadgets, here is a cocktail shaker that kind of works like an elliptical.

The shaker was built for the Touring Pop-up Sideshow Saloon in San Francisco, an event this past Sunday that puts together "vintage mixology and spectacular entertainment inspired by the great saloons and sideshow attractions of the 1850s."

So other than being gigantic, here's how the contraption works. It uses something called a flywheel, powered by a hand-crank, which pushes something called a "crank-slider." The crank-slider then houses two shakers, producing an elliptical, rounded motion that is far superior to the up/down shake of bartenders everywhere. Sound complicated? Just watch the video below.
