Chocolate Abuelita (Mexican Hot Chocolate)

Warm up to a cup of this Mexican hot chocolate on a cold fall day. It's also perfect to serve as a festive drink in honor of Dia de los Muertos. 
  • 4 cup whole milk
  • 8 ounce chocolate, abuelita brand®
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 cup water
  1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients and place over medium heat, whisking constantly, until hot but not boiling, about 8 minutes. Serve in a mug with whipped cream and a dash of cinnamon if desired.
