Burger King Debuts Two-For-$3 Breakfast Sandwiches
Burger King is offering two value-positioned meal deals as limited-time offers this month.
Through Feb. 29, the Miami-based quick-service chain is selling two breakfast sandwiches for $3. The sandwiches include eggs with bacon, sausage or ham on a croissant, biscuit or muffin.
The introduction comes at a time when competition is heating up in the quick-service breakfast segment.
Taco Bell recently rolled out its new breakfast platform, called First Meal, to 800 locations. Wendy's is also rolling out a new breakfast menu this year, and Chick-fil-A recently added a new spicy chicken biscuit and multigrain oatmeal to its breakfast offerings.
In addition, from Feb. 13–March 5, Burger King is also featuring a buy-one, get-one-free offer of its Original Chicken Sandwich line, which includes a crispy chicken sandwich with a choice of toppings, such as mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce, or lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and bacon.
With beef commodity costs rising, chicken has become a popular menu item.
McDonald's has been promoting its Chicken McBites, a popcorn chicken-like snack in three sizes starting at $1. Wendy's is also planning improvements and line extensions around its chicken sandwiches this year.
Burger King has 12,400 locations globally.
