British Airways' Pop-Up Restaurant... On A Plane

It's not just the in-flight menu that's getting fancified for the 2012 London Olympics — now, British Airways announced a new pop-up restaurant (in a plane, no less) to get the party started.

Located in Shoreditch, the restaurant/art gallery/cinema will open for two weeks in April to showcase the best of British talent. Joining filmmaker Prasanna Puwanarajah and artist Pascal Anson is Michelin-starred chef Simon Hulstone, who will be making an "Olympic-themed" menu for the occassion. The quirkiest part of all? It'll be lcoated in a plane cabin. Talk about an upgrade from the bland in-flight meals we're used to.

British Airways (the official airline for the 2012 London games) said in a statement, "We wanted to bring the flying experience to the public, allowing guests to preview our in-flight entertainment, celebratory aircraft livery, and on-board menus in anticipation of the London 2012 games."

To get in the restaurant, RSVP on the airline's Facebook page. (Better do it now, as travel forecasters are predicting huge surges in travelers during the Olympics and beyond.)
