Gina at Skinnytaste never lets us down with her recipes. Her fruit pops combine kiwi, watermelon, strawberries, pineapple and either pineapple juice or orange juice, depending on your preference. The best part: No added sugar! We're convinced this is the best way to get your daily dose of fruit during heat-wave season. Click here for the recipe from Skinnytaste.com.
Strawberries + yogurt + a little lemon juice and some sugar = summer bliss. These ice pops from Bakerella take you back to your childhood and forgo the fancy ice pop molds. Why buy another thing to squeeze into your kitchen cabinet when you can use old-fashioned paper cups — like the kind you may or may not have also made Jello shots in during college — and popsicle sticks. Plus, they look so patriotic! Click here for the recipe from Bakerella.com.
We were blown away by the creativity of this recipe from blog Homespun With Love. Instead of sticking with the generic fruit theme for ice pops, they threw in cucumber, mint and even a little spinach. (We know the spinach sounds a little weird; don't knock it 'til you try it.) Ice pops probably don't get much more innovative (or prettier) than this. Edible Perspective used kiwis and pineapples in its recipe, and had the genius idea of using coconut water instead of just juice to help with hydration on hot days. The coolest part: The recipe says to drip a mixture of melted coconut butter and coconut oil over the ice pops, which forms an outer "shell" once it sets. There's nothing better than a frozen dessert and an ice-cold cocktail when relaxing in the summer sun. Oh wait, there is! Endless Simmer read our minds and combined a sweet treat with booze to form what it calls, "Sunday Brunch Cocktail on a Stick." Yes, please! The recipe calls for Prosecco, blackberries, crème de cassis, lime juice and lime zest. We'll be making these for our Fourth of July cookout. Click here for the recipe from EndlessSimmer.com.
